On Monday August 3rd, 2009, I took my 8 year old son wade fishing for the first time. Captain Blake Muirhead from Rockport took us to Baffin Bay. In the first 2 hours my son caught and released a 24" trout followed by a 28" trout and finally this 30.5", 8.5 lb trout of a lifetime! We were fishing with croaker. The only help he needed was casting his line out and netting the fish. He hooked it, battled it, and landed it himself. I am one proud Daddy! Like his father when he was growing up, Tyler caught the biggest fish of the trip! We took enough fish home for a fish fry, but refrained from taking any trophy sized fish to help conserve the quality of our fish in the future. The only question I have is "Why isn't there a trout division for the 6-11 age bracket of the STAR tournament?"
