Started about 1:00 PM and stopped at 3:00 PM. Started off pretty good but eventually subdued by the heat of the day and back cramps. Out of practice with wade fishing, seemed to be my biggest problem. The water was off color not the brilliant clear green as normal. It seemed a bit murky, however my rig, a small bubbler float with about 12 inches of line and attached at the end a 1/2 ounce Johnson Sprite gold spoon seemed to be visible. I waded for about 2 hours and got several bites. The fish seemed hestitate to swallow the bait. Most likely the retrieve was too fast and the visibility was not as clear as desired. Some floating moss cause a few problems but not to extreme, in all it was an enjoyable experienced. I had two nice bites which produced two good runs. I never got to see the fish, but they were reds. The signature style of the redfish is to hit the bait hard and then either pull hard or come directly at the angler. All these traits were applied to my lure and the fight was very exciting, though I was not able to land the fish I was rewarded with a few moments of excitement. I would definitely recommend Boggy to anyone who does not have access to a boat or just enjoys wade fishing without alot of hassle. In most case you can drive up to the location where you want to begin waiting. One word of caution, Boggy is not just a given name, but the name is applied because of the soft bottom of this small inland bay system. I saw some shrimp and lots of mullet bait so the conditions are good for a success trip. Until next time enjoying your next fishing trip.
